We are being bombarded with news of the disaster in Japan. I know it is really bad over there and will be for a while. But we are not being shown what happened in Hawaii or our own west coast. I have found some posts from Hawaii and saw one short ABC newscast showing homes moved off foundations or just gone completely. There are lots of clips from west coast showing the wave coming in. One I saw was in a marina. Boats tossed around like toys, some sunk.
Where is the compassion for our own? Why are we not being told what is going on in our own country? There is really something wrong with our news reporting and our nation.

Saturday, March 12
Got up, showered and shaved. I had gotten an email from one of the CMA members about getting together and riding up to Tomball to the car show. Before heading out I checked my email to verify time to meet. In my email, was an invite to meet with Boomer friends for dinner at 5:30 at the Cypress Station Grill, so I was glad I checked my emails.
Got the motorcycle out of garage and headed off to Luby's. Went through line and got breakfast and sat. Shortly, the member that had sent the email out showed up and joined me for breakfast. We ate and talked. No one else showed up. We took off and headed to Tomball by the backroads. Great day for a ride. There were some really nice cars and a few custom motorcycles. Not as many as the flyer they had sent out seem to indicate. We visited and looked at cars, of course I had forgot my camera!
We left Tomball and headed down to Houston Yamaha on 1960. Looked at bikes and Terry talked with the manager that he knew. Did not stay long and headed back towards home. Terry pealed off when we got near his home off Barker-Cypress. I cruised on home, arrived about 3 and took a short nap.
Got up and showered and dressed. Ellen and I headed of to Cypress Station. We were the first to arrive by about 5 minutes. Everyone got there and we got a table. Food was good and so was the service for a group of 8. We made it home by 8:30 and lay around too full to move.
Great day. I stayed out of Ellen's hair so she could quilt and I got to ride.

CMA meeting - March 5
Well, CMA meeting and it was raining. I do not like riding in the rain, so I left the bike in the garage. Besides, bike was clean and I did not want to make a mess of it. Michael had gotten up wanting to go to the meeting with me. We went a little early and had breakfast - we meet at Luby's.
Really a great meeting again this month. A lot of visiting with attendees. Very good turn out considering the weather. Only 2 were brave enough to ride their bikes. The rest came in "cagers" (cars/trucks). Very inspiritational message by the chaplin, officer took care of business. Upcoming rides and events were announced.
Looking forward to Run for the Son on May 7. This is an event to raise money for several mission services supported by CMA.

Texas Boomers 2/11-13 Coushatte RV Ranch
Once again this year we celebrated Valentines Day with our Boomer friends. Needless to say, we had a great time. Snacks Friday evening after we arrived. Pot luck breakfast Saturday morning was great. Saturday afternoon we into town and bought some pastries for Sunday breakfast. Drove around site seeing for a while and back to campground for visiting with friends. Saturday night dinner was prepared by campground staff - Hamburgers, hot dogs, french fries and onion rings with all the fixings. Root beer floats for desert. Dinner was served by our "car hops", one lady from each table.
The evening continued with hula hoop contest - Ellen won. One of the members has DJ equipment and played music from our high school days. Been a long time since I heard so much great music. We danced, talked and just had fun until Midnight. Way too much fun.
Had coffee at the rally room Sunday morning and helped clean up and take down decorations. Then, time to get ready to head home. Sundays are always sad days, leaving friends, dumping tanks, hooking up and going home where we unload and return trailer to storage. But, most of all, I know Ellen has to go back to work in Illinois on Monday morning.
