Bonnie Surgery

Bonnie did great today.  She had inside toe/toe nail on her right front foot amutated today.  The nail had gotten quite thick and was growing in lenght very fast.  There was no quick in the nail and the toe had become enlarged.  The nail got hung on every thing and ended up bleeding.  Her foot had started bothering her.  The vet had checked it in January and on recheck last Thursday, he was surprised at the change.  Tissue sent out for testing to be safe.  She has a pretty pink bandage on her foot.

Brazos Bend State Park

Had a great time last weekend with friends at Brazos Bend.  It had been quite some time since some of us had been together and a really long time since we had been at Brazos Bend.  Friday was perfect weather.  Rain came in on Saturday and it was cold and windy.  Finally the rain quit and Ray got out and cooked the hamburgers.  We all gathered in the Naylor trailer and had our pot luck inside due the the cold and the wind.  We managed to watch the Nationwide race and had a great time and super eats.  Sunday dawned dry, but windy!  Visited a while and went and dumped the tanks and headed home.

Only gator we saw, I guess it was just too cold for them.

Michael's Surgery

First, thanks for all the prayers and good wishes.  We arrived at the hospital at 5:30 AM.  They took Michael back to surgery shortly before 8.  At a little before 2, they wheeled him from surgery straight to his room.  He was groggy and out of it.  They entered through a vein in his left leg and an artery in his right.  He still had the tubes for the cat's in his legs.  They pulled the tubes around 3 after his blood had rid itself of the thinners they had him on during the procedure.  The hard part for him is he has to lay flat of his back and still  from the time he got back to his room until 10 PM.  They do not want the entry points to open up.

I'm at home now.  Had to come take care of the dogs.  I will go back tomorrow morning and pick up Ellen and Michael.  Doctor feels confident that he has repaired the problem, but only time will tell.

Sailing Weather

Getting the bug to get back to sailing.  I went to the  Brazos Sailing Club meeting last night and visited with friends.  We had a speaker from the Texas Urban Forestry Program that talked about the tree damage and kill in Galveston.  Restorerer from Mystic Seaport came down and worked him him picking out live oak trees that were being cut down to take back to be used in the restoration of the Charles W Morgan, a old wooden whaling ship.  Very interesting speaker.

Saturday we will be joining friend on their boat for a morning sail on Lake Conroe before going to the social with the Lake Conroe Sailing Association.

Made me get back to work on our boat.  Most of sanding done, keel treated with rust converter.  Need to raise off trailer and sand where the runners are and I am ready to paint.  Got to get it done.  Do not want to miss any good sailing weather!

Oh yeah, we have several RV club campouts coming up.  Retirement is rough.  Filed for Social Security on Monday.
